FA (Financial Aid) - International Applicants

학생이 미국 시민권자/영주권자가 아닌 경우, FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) 를 통한 연방 및 주정부 무상 보조 (Federal/State Grant) 는 신청할 수 없지만, College Board 의 CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE 을 통한 학교 무상 보조 (School Grant) 신청은 가능합니다. 다만, International Applicants 는 School Grant 신청시 학교별 Admissions Policy (Need-Blind 는 입학 사정과 무관, Need-Aware 는 입학 사정에 불리) 를 반드시 확인해야 합니다.

성적 장학금 (Merit Scholarship) 을 Offer 하지 않는 Top Tier 학교들의 예를 들어 보면, Princeton, Harvard, Yale, MIT, Amherst 는 International Applicants 의 FA 신청이 입학 사정에 약간의 도움이 되고, Columbia, UChicago, Stanford, UPenn, Dartmouth, Brown, Cornell 등은 입학 사정에 불리합니다. 물론, 매년 8-10 월 학교별 Policy 의 변경 유무를 저희가 확인합니다. 또한 명문 주립 대학의 FA 는 실제로 Federal/State Grant 와 Merit Scholarship 으로만 Awarded 되기에, International Applicants 에게 School Grant 란 사실 명문 사립 대학에만 국한되어 있습니다. 물론, Level 이 낮은 사립 대학들은 International Applicants 에게 적지 않은 금액의 Merit Scholarship 을 Offer 합니다.
